July 26, 2021 – The IRR1-SOL irradiance meter makes it easy to meet IEC 62446-1 requirements for testing, documenting, and maintaining PV systems, says Fluke. The hand-held tool boasts an integrated compass and inclination sensor that allow technicians to measure and document roof and site orientation, pitch, and panel tilt while surveying, installing, or adjusting an installation.
The meter measures actual solar irradiance (W/m2) and shading at a site to develop a baseline. Once the system is installed, the IRR1-SOL ensures it is operating as designed by determining its power output. The tool also confirms the correct amount of irradiance energy is being received to generate the DC voltage that is fed into the inverter.
