April 1, 2019 – Fluke Networks has introduced the MicroScanner PoE to assist technicians in the installation and troubleshooting of Power over Ethernet (PoE) cabling and devices, including those that support the new high-power 802.3bt standard, which was ratified in late 2018.

The tester’s display indicates the maximum class of power available, as reported by the PoE switch, in accordance with the Ethernet Alliance’s certification program. This allows users to ensure sufficient power is available for PoE devices and thus confirm compatibility.

The tester also offers cable wiremapping and distance-to-fault indicators to help track down cabling problems. When connected to a live switch port, it displays the speed of that port, up to 10 Gbps.
