Fluke TL175 TwistGuard test leads

October 19, 2010 | By Anthony Capkun

Fluke Corp.’s new TL175 TwistGuard test leads are the only leads, boasts the company, with a manually adjustable test tip guard for use in changing measurement situations. By simply twisting the test lead, you can change the exposed probe tip length from 3/4 in. to 4/25 in. Fully extended, the TL175 test leads are safety rated for Cat II 1000V use; when retracted, they are rated for Cat III 1000V and Cat IV 600V. These leads are also Fluke’s first with WearGuard insulation, where each test lead is covered by two layers of silicone insulation: red or black on the outside, and white on the inside. When they become nicked or scuffed, you have a visual warning to replace. The TL175 test leads also offer screw threads at the base of the probe, allowing you to add several screw-on clips, probes and specialty tips.
