June 9, 2022 | By Anthony Capkun

June 9, 2022 – Designed to support future growth, Franklin Empire Inc. announced the launch of construction of the company’s new headquarters, with completion expected in Summer 2023.

“For 80 years, Franklin Empire has focused on providing leading-edge service tailored to its customers’ needs. This has always been our priority,” said Bernie Backman, co-president. “With our new LEED* headquarters built by Montoni, we want to offer our employees an ideal work environment to pursue this ambition and support our growth in the years to come.”

Franklin Empire reports it is largest independently owned electrical distributor in Canada. The family-owned, 4th generation enterprise is also celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.

The new edifice will measure nearly 190,000 square-feet, and be located along Autoroute 40 at the junction of Autoroute 13 in Saint-Laurent, Que. The building will triple the firm’s warehouse space and double its office area.

Citing the importance of energy management, Franklin Empire is targeting “at least LEED Silver certification” with the building; meaning, the distributor certifies the sustainability of its facility through its design, construction and operation.

Franklin Empire is home to 545+ employees and 23 branches, and five assembly and repair shops in Quebec and Ontario. It is also a member of AD, North America’s largest marketing/buying group for construction and industrial supplies.
