June 11, 2015 – It was hot tunes and balloons at Acklands-Grainger’s brand new distribution centre at 21 Merchant Rd. in Caledon, Ont. today. The company, a distributor of industrial, safety and fastener products, hosted its grand opening celebration for the new location, featuring facility tours and a barbecue.

The 535,000 sf facility has the capacity to stock 170,000 products and serves customers in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.

“Having this distribution centre in Caledon and the Greater Toronto Area allows us to better serve our growing number of customers in Eastern Canada,” said Simon Kelly, director at the distribution centre. “In addition, this is a solid community and it has a strong talent pool. We look forward to serving as a member of this community for generations to come.”

A total of two miles of conveyor belts run throughout the facility, which started bringing product in around mid-December last year, Kelly noted.

Acklands-Grainger has more than 130 team members working in this centre. The company operates 187 branches and distribution centres across Canada, including 40 in Ontario.
