October 18, 2013 | By Alyssa Dalton

October 18, 2013 – GE has announced its MultiLink ethernet switch—the ML3000—which boasts more flexible network design options and promises to reduce installation time and costs by allowing users to configure the switch for as many as 32 Power of Ethernet (PoE) ports.

Suitable for use in industrial and energy applications, the switch can power up and communicate with end devices, such as badge readers, surveillance cameras and VoIP telephones, over a single cable. Up to 18 fiber connections or 36 copper connections provide additional wiring options. The ML3000 can operate in temperature ranges of -40C to 85C, without fans.
