March 6, 2014 | By Anthony Capkun

March 6, 2014 – Genalta Power Inc. has entered into an agreement with Baytex Energy Ltd. for the construction of an electrical power generating facility located near the latter’s Peace River Field in northern Alberta.

“The project has been designed to the specific site conditions and exact gas composition using a combination of technologies that will produce power to feed directly into the Alberta power grid, displacing coal-fired base load generation,” explained Graham Illingworth, Genalta’s CEO.

The power plant will be designed specifically to reduce the amount of solution gas being flared in the area. Genalta will engineer, own and operate this power generation facility, which is forecast to be commissioned in late 2014.
