Generac Power Systems Inc.’s EcoGen generator is the first automatic standby generator, says the company, that is warranted for off-grid use when used in an alternative energy system. Whether one is living off-grid by choice or as a requirement, EcoGen is an “affordable, reliable, propane-fuelled alternative”. EcoGen works in conjunction with existing solar or wind power energy generation. When the power from these sources dips below an acceptable level, the inverter charger automatically signals the generator to start up. Additional features include: standby capacity of 6 kW at 120V with 240V conversion capability; three-year/2000-hour limited warranty for off-grid applications using alternative energy; Generac’s V-Twin OHVI industrial engine and more.
