May 21, 2014 – To help end users and customers maximize productivity using their smartphones or tablets, General Cable recently launched three new mobile apps: Voltage Drop, Conductor Ampacity and Conduit Fill.

Voltage Drop allows you to calculate the maximum circuit distance and minimum conductor size for your required voltage drop. Conductor Ampacity lets you calculate conductor ampacities for different temperature ratings. Conduit Fill helps you calculate the minimum conduit size (per the U.S.-based National Electrical Code). “We know many of the people who use our products spend more time on a jobsite with mobile devices than they do in an office with a desktop computer,” noted Alison Earle, sales operations manager. The apps are available for download from the App Store or Google Play.
