Caterpillar launches Cat 3512C diesel generator set standby power node
March 30, 2017 - Caterpillar Inc. has announced a new standby power node for the Cat 3512C diesel generator set, rated at 1750 kW for 60 Hz standby applications.
The Cat 3512C diesel generator set is the latest in a series of new ratings for standby power solutions from Caterpillar. These generator sets have been re-engineered with the higher power densities requested by customers to meet increasingly challenging restrictions on capital, site size, and cost, the company claims. Over the next six months, Caterpillar says it will offer seven additional new ratings and the full line will feature power nodes ranging from 1250 kW to 2800 kW.
The Cat 3512C generator set has a footprint of 151.56 sf, “saving up to 13% of installed space when compared with competing generator sets at the same rating”, the company states. It also meets ISO 8528- 5 G3 requirements for steady state and load acceptance.
The product can be equipped with a low- or high-voltage frame alternator and it utilizes the Cat ADEMTM A3 engine control module (ECM), which integrates all engine functions including ignition, governing, air-fuel ratio control, and engine protection.
