April 3, 2014 | By Anthony Capkun

April 3, 2014 – About a week ago, Horizon Utilities Corp. held its annual Energy Savings Champions Awards in Hamilton, Ont., and congratulations are in order for Graybar Canada’s Hamilton Branch!

“These community leaders realize it makes good business sense to use the expertise and incentives that Horizon Utilities offers to reduce energy use and save money in their companies,” said Max Cananzi (photo A. Capkun, 2012), president and CEO, Horizon Utilities.

The awards recognize local businesses for implementing energy conservation and demand management (CDM) projects involving retrofits, lighting fixtures and heating and cooling systems.

“We are very pleased to receive the award and be recognized by Horizon Utilities,” said Matt Newman, branch manager. “It means a lot to us to be able to contribute to the improvement of our community by sharing our green practices.”

Graybar’s award recognizes the “often unseen hero of many CDM projects”—participating contractors. Graybar Canada submitted 21 applications, resulting in energy savings of 189kW and 743,521 kWh.
