“Green highways” partnership to grow Sun Country EV charging station network

May 23, 2014 | By Alyssa Dalton

May 23, 2014 – A partnership between Mr. Electric and Sun Country Highway has been developed to “bring green highways to America”—by growing the latter’s electric vehicle (EV) charging station infrastructure with installation support from local Mr. Electric franchisees.

Mr. Electric is a provider of electric services in Canada and the U.S., while Sun Country Highway is a Canadian-owned company focused on creating electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure.

Sun Country Highway vice president, Christopher Misch, said he is excited about the opportunity the partnership presents for each company, stating “This collaboration will not only help create jobs in local communities, but allows Sun Country Highway to continue leading global change through implementing our model for environmental, economic and social sustainability.”

“This network of locally owned Mr. Electric businesses will enable Sun Country Highway to expand in the United States swiftly, hiring local business owners to complete installations,” added Mr. Electric corporate president, Joel Worthington.

The two companies say they are currently discussing a plan to help green America’s highways through the implementation of an EV-friendly infrastructure, beginning in California.
