Greenlee appointments: Jeff Smith and Josh Jacobs

July 16, 2014 | By Alyssa Dalton

July 16, 2014 – Greenlee, a Textron company, has announced two new appointments within its engineering and product management departments, where it named Jeff Smith to director, Engineering and Josh Jacobs, director, Product Management, effective immediately.

“As Greenlee’s product lines continue to grow, we’ve had to add additional resources to both our engineering and product management teams,” said Scott Hall, president, Textron Industrial Segment and Textron Tools & Test division. “These appointments will now allow us to provide a more focused approach to each department.”

In his new role, Smith will support existing product lines, manage the design of new products and will assume responsibility for the engineering staff. He most recently served as director, Advanced Manufacturing. Smith joined Greenlee in July 2006 as manufacturing manager of the Genoa operations before moving to the Research Parkway facility as plant manager. He then joined Cessna Aircraft Company as a value stream manager and returned to Greenlee in 2013 in his current role.

According to Greenlee, Jacobs will focus solely on leading the product management team to build a “rich pipeline of game-changing new products while reducing time to market especially as we increase the percent of new products we make ourselves in our factories”. After joining the company in 2011 as a senior product manager, he was promoted to director, Product Management and Engineering in 2013. Prior to joining Greenlee, he worked for Stanley-National Hardware, a division of Stanley Black & Decker, as director of marketing.
