Greenlee unveils “next generation” battery-powered hydraulic tools (Fall 2016)
By Renée Francoeur
November 15, 2016 – Greenlee Textron says its line of next generation battery-powered, Bluetooth-enabled hydraulic tools includes “real-time communication technology, improved ergonomics and a longer battery life supplied by an enhanced Makita platform”.
This line includes 6-ton, 12-ton and 15-ton crimping tools, as well as cable and bolt cutters and a 10K PSI pump with removable heads.
Each crimper is equipped with Intelli-CRIMP technology, a pressure sensor that, according to Greenlee, monitors the crimping process, ensuring the correct amount of pressure is applied to each crimp. Some tools are also equipped with Auto Retraction Stop (ARS), which retracts the ram enough to prepare the tool for the next cycle. Likewise, Retraction Stop Repeat (RSR) allows the operator to partially retract the ram and repeat that retraction for subsequent crimps.
Other features include a reverse tapered hand-grip, a larger hydraulic reservoir and LED display.
