Health Canada recently completed testing a number of USB chargers that plug into an electrical outlet as part of a planned national compliance and enforcement project.

The USB chargers were designed for use with phones, tablets and other devices. Health Canada has published a list of products that were found to pose an unacceptable risk of electric shock, burn or fire, and are being recalled.

Health Canada asks all users to immediately stop using the affected products and either return them to the retailer where they were purchased, or dispose of them according to your municipal electronic waste requirements. Health Canada also asks all users to only purchase and use certified electrical products.
