Heilind adds TE Connectivity’s Solarlok 2.0 connector to its roster
September 12, 2019 | By Kavita Sabharwal-Chomiuk
Sept. 12, 2019 – Heilind Electronics, a global distributor of electronic components and an authorized distributor for TE Connectivity (TE) products, recently launched TE’s new Solarlok 2.0 connector. Heilind says the product enables solar installers to make connections more quickly, easily and cost-effectively.
TE’s Solarlok 2.0 is a field-installable connector that uses Insulation Displacement Contact technology to forge a connection between panels and cables without requiring custom tooling. The connectors use a closed-spring cage to ensure constant termination force. Cables are not required to be stripped prior to making a connection, resulting in an installation that is 80 per cent faster than standard photovoltaic DC connectors.
Solarlok 2.0 connectors are available in both male and female versions and are gel-filled, which ensures IPX8 water ingress protection.
