Hendrix Wire & Cable, a provider of underground and overhead distribution products, unveiled Dual Block product, which offers a dual water-blocking capability on Hendrix primary, underground cable. The company says it prevents water from entering the cable core. A fill compound is continuously applied into the conductor interstices, which prevents longitudinal water migration, then a water-swellable powder is applied under the polyethylene jacket to prevent water from migrating along the neutral wires under the jacket. Dual Block is an option for all stranded conductor, Hendrix cables.
