Hipower successfully tests HRNG-165 and HRNG-230 natural gas generators

September 14, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

September 13, 2013 – Hipower Systems—a manufacturer of power-generation and distribution equipment—says it has completed the first successful test of its new HRNG-165 and HRNG-230 natural gas generators.

Soon available for pre-order at partner locations, the generators are engineered specifically for remote oil and gas operations. The company has developed prototypes of five different models, says Hipower, all of which will be built to order and certified to both CSA and UL standards. The generators are integrated with MasterTrak—a telematics asset and fleet management tool that communicates directly with the engine and other components to provide equipment data. It lets operators (or their service companies) monitor faults and alerts remotely and in real time.
