July 9, 2015 – Working in partnership with the City of Hamilton and Metrolinx, Horizon Utilities says it has installed new electrical infrastructure required to power the West Harbour GO station on James Street.

The project began in late 2014 as Horizon engineers and crews said they recognized the urgency to have the infrastructure in place prior to the Pan Am Games.

Over a kilometer of underground electrical cable was installed, as well as a new transformer and pole service, the utility said, totaling $300,000.

“Investing in Hamilton and St. Catharines is a key pillar of Horizon Utilities’ commitment to the communities we serve,” said Eileen Campbell, vice-president of customer services, Horizon Utilities. “We’re proud to do our part in support of the Pan Am Games at a time when the eyes of the Americas will be on Hamilton and St. Catharines.”
