December 1, 2016 – According to ABB, it’s the heaviest item ever airlifted in the Americas.

A specially designed ABB 3-phase transformer weighing 155 tons has been flown 3000 km from Brazil to Chile, where it will help provide power to more than 65,000 households. A delivery that would have taken around 50 days by boat was achieved in just a few hours. How? ABB called in the world’s largest and heaviest aircraft—the Antonov 225—to pull it off. Check it out!
