HPS offers energy-efficient LV and MV transformers meeting NRCan regulations
June 26, 2018 | By Ellen Cools

June 26, 2018 — Hammond Power Solutions (HPS) launched a new line of low- and and medium-voltage distribution and drive isolation transformers meeting NRCan regulation SOR/2016-311 Amendment 14, which aligns minimum energy efficiency levels of dry-type transformers sold in Canada with those of the U.S.
Ontario adopted the NRCan regulation on January 1, 2018 with the Ontario Reg. 404-12 legislation, which amended the Ontario Green Energy Act of 2009. Other provinces are expected to follow suit in the second half of 2018.
HPS offers standard efficiency products that meet CSA C802.2 standards and has added new product lines that comply with the energy efficiency regulations:
• HPS Sentinel G, K and H to serve users in general purpose, K-rated and harmonic mitigating applications
• HPS Express G, for the commercial market
• HPS Tribune E for drive isolation applications
• HPS Millennium G (up to 5 kV) and E (up to 35 kV) for medium voltage applications
