Hubbell expands wiHUBB wireless technology to Southwest Series

January 30, 2012 | By Alyssa Dalton

January 27, 2012 – Hubbell Lighting has expanded its wiHUBB technology in select Southwest Series products available in both the Hubbell Outdoor and Spaulding Lighting portfolios–making it the first in the industry to offer smart lighting fixtures with wireless control technology built-in at the factory, it claims. WiHUBB operates on a Synapse Network Appliance Protocol (SNAP)– operating in a 900 MHz band, the system’s mesh network signals are able to reroute around obstacles. By using wiHUBB, these Southwest Series products can be programmed for wireless on/off operation (HID and CFL), 0-10VDC full dimming with LED for energy savings, or electronic HID and programmable autonomous operation.
