March 22, 2012 – Ideal Industries, a manufacturer and supplier of tools, connectors and testing products for the electrical and data communications markets, has named its president and CEO Jim James vice chair of its board.

James has served as president and CEO since joining Ideal in August 2008. Previous to that appointment, he served as president of ITW Building Components Group, a division of Illinois Tool Works.

“In his three years here Jim has skillfully guided Ideal through a severe recession, brought a new commitment to efficiencies and lean processes, and spearheaded several acquisitions that provide opportunities and access to new markets for us,” said Dave Juday, chair of the board. “Our growth in sales, earnings, and market presence during Jim’s tenure has been remarkable.”

“Jim being named to a leadership role on the board is reflective of the board’s confidence in his operational skill as well as the vision and commitment to strategy that he has shown,” he added.
