October 18, 2017 – While at Gerrie Electric’s recent Saleabration and Electrozad’s Oktoberfest, we stumbled upon the 2017 Ideal Skills Challenge Canada competition, which pits electricians, apprentices and students’ wiring skills against the clock.

To participate, contestants simply need to come to one of Ideal Canada’s scheduled events, being held through November 2017. Registration takes place on the spot, and Ideal supplies all the necessary equipment to complete The Challenge. Contestants have up to two chances to do it fast and get it right. Their times are recorded and, at the end of the day, the person with the fastest time at each event is declared the winner.

“The reason we are doing these events is in preparation for ‘The Big Show’—the 2018 Ideal National Championships—which Canada will be participating in next year,” explained Erin Hawley, marketing manager.

Canada will send its Top 2 professional electricians and Top 2 students/apprentices to compete in the finals in Orlando, Fla., added Hawley.
