IEEE ICC 2012 to highlight wireless and wireline service innovations in Ottawa

June 08, 2011 – The IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), an international organization dedicated to the advance of global communications, will hold its premier IEEE International Communications Conference (ICC) from June 10-15, 2012 in Ottawa, Ont. Themed ‘Connect – Communicate – Collaborate’, organizers say they expect to attract thousands of industry professionals, scientists and government officials to more than 1,500 presentations exploring the entire range of global voice, data, image and multimedia technologies.

The 2012 conference has been expanded to include the new Industry Forums, which will detail advancements in:

• Wired Broadband
• Cloud Computing

• Network Convergence

• Applications

In addition, Telus has joined other leading telecommunications companies as members of the IEEE ICC 2012 patronage team. “Since 1965, IEEE ICC has stimulated the exchange of scientific ideas and introduction of new, cutting-edge communications systems on a global scale, the focus of IEEE ICC 2012 is to bring the industry and academia to meet and discuss the trends of the of the communications market‚” said IEEE ICC 2012 general chair Ibrahim Gedeon, CTO, Telus.

A call for papers deadline has been set for September 6, 2011 for submissions in the areas of:
