IEEE upgrades Xplore digital library – 3point0

IEEE says it has launched a “substantial upgrade” to the IEEE Xplore digital library; the site’s new user interface and customizable search tools promise to make exploring IEEE’s 2 million+ documents faster and more productive. Among the enhancements is the search engine, which boasts “Refine this Search” capability to allow you to drill down to something specific. A convenient “type-ahead” feature shortens search time while search suggestions decrease the possibility of zero results. Custom saved searches can be created directly from the search results page, and visitors can sign up for RSS feeds and e-mail alerts to stay current with newly added content.
