IES Illumination Awards open for submissions

Submissions are now being accepted online for the 2011 Illuminating Engineering Society Illumination Awards. CLICK HERE to submit your project before February 11. 

NEW for 2011: The Control Innovation Award, sponsored by the Lighting Controls Association, which recognizes the effective use of lighting controls in nonresidential applications.

Other awards include…

• The Edwin F. Guth Memorial Award for Interior Lighting Design, which honours the memory of Edwin F. Guth, founder of the St. Louis Brass Co.

• The Paul Waterbury Award for Outdoor Lighting Design
, which commemorates his achievements in the lighting field such as the development of 1500W metal halide lamps for stadium use.

• The Aileen Page Cutler Memorial Award for Residential Lighting Design
, which honours the memory of Aileen Page Cutler, a developer of new ways to light residences.

• The Energy and Environmental Design Award
, sponsored by Osram Sylvania, which recognizes energy-efficient lighting installations in commercial and industrial buildings.

IES is one of the oldest educational and scientific societies in North America devoted to lighting. Since 1906, it has published literature on lighting authored by different committees in the field.
