July 27, 2015 | By Renée Francoeur

July 27, 2015 – The Independent Electricity System Operator’s (IESO) board of directors has appointed Tim O’Neill the new chair. He replaces Jim Hinds.

O’Neill was previously vice-chair of the IESO board and he served as the chair for the former IESO organization before it merged with the Ontario Power Authority.

He is currently the president of O’Neill Strategic Economics and is the first Canadian economist to be elected to the board of governors of the Washington-based National Association for Business Economics, where he served as president from October 2002 until September 2003, according to IESO.

Carole Workman has been also been appointed as a new board member for the IESO. Workman was previously a member of the board of directors for Hydro One, where she sat on the Audit, Finance and Pension Investment Committee and the Regulatory and Public Policy Committee.
