September 25, 2015 – IMARK Canada has entered into a strategic alliance with Montreal-based OCTO Purchasing Group, under which OCTO’s management team (Group 4CB, led by Claude Beaulac) will provide a local-based presence for the IMARK Canada organization, and assist in its management and growth.

IMARK Canada is a member-owned/-governed marketing group serving the electrical and lighting distribution market.

“This strategic alliance offers the OCTO Purchasing Group and IMARK Canada the ability to share best practices, synergies and members, as well as the opportunity to expand to other business segments,” said Roy Byrne, OCTO president.

IMARK Canada was established in September 2013; according to the group, it now comprises 20 members with “formal relationships” with 63 manufacturers. OCTO, founded in 1984, has 66 members in eight distinct industries (plumbing, HVAC/R, waterworks, pumps, fire protection, pipe, valve and fitting, industrial safety, and retail).
