Stelpro has announced the sudden passing of its founder, John Chabot, 80, on Oct. 23, 2019. John was the father of Yves Chabot, president of Stelpro.

John launched Stelpro on Nov. 19, 1981, in Drummondville, and ran the company for 25 years, from its start until he stepped down in 2006. According to a company release about his passing, “he met all the challenges and overcame all the obstacles with tenacity, resolve and success.”

The release also states that, “John leaves us a solid company, which we will continue to grow by facing head on the new challenges that come our way.”

“My father has always been a mentor to me, and always will be,” said Yves Chabot. “He had a unique way of looking at the world, saying things and managing a company. He never left anyone indifferent! He left the industry 13 years ago, but people still talk to me about him – they always have great stories to tell.”

A private funeral service will be held, as per the wishes of John and his family.
