Industrial enclosure manufacturer CPI acquires Canada’s R.F. Mote

June 13, 2019 | By Peter Saunders

June 13, 2019 – Earlier this year, U.S.-based Chatsworth Products Inc. (CPI), a provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure products and industrial enclosures, acquired R.F. Mote, which manufactures and assembles data centre racks, cabinets and enclosures in Richmond Hill, Ont. Details of the deal were not disclosed.

With the addition of R.F. Mote’s existing portfolio and installed base, CPI aims to better serve the Canadian market with shorter lead times and locally fabricated products. Another goal is to increase opportunities for attaching CPI’s eConnect power distribution and electronic access control products to R.F. Mote’s enclosures.

R.F. Mote was founded in 1966 and grew to serve the data centre, telecommunications and colocation markets. In 1991, the company added a showroom in nearby Vaughan, Ont.

“We are thrilled to combine forces with a management team that has a long and proven history of excellence in the Canadian market,” says CPI’s CEO, Michael Custer.
