December 16, 2014 – Intermatic released a new line of “dusk-to-dawn” fixed-mount photo controls with electronic switching mechanisms for use in outdoor lighting fixtures.

The controls have a solid-state, silicon light sensor and DC relay to provide switching. This provides easier calibration to different targeted On/Off levels, says Intermatic, and a repeatable setpoint that does not drift during the life of the product. The company’s full line of LED controls includes a button, stem, stem and swivel side lens, and stem and swivel top lens that can be used in outdoor applications such as landscape lighting, pedestrian walkways and campuses. The controls are designed and tested to match the extended life expectancies of LED, induction and HID fixtures, says Intermatic, backing them with 6-, 8- and 12-year limited warranties. The photo controls include a 255J MOV element for extra surge protection, meet or exceed ANSI C136.24 and are UL/CSA listed.
