The international competition is an instrument for fostering collaboration and advancing “the most promising startup technologies and business models in the construction sector”.

Specifically, the competition is looking for “the most promising startup solutions” that pertain to sustainability, enhanced productivity, supply chains, and new construction methods and technologies within the sector.

Since its first edition in 2017, startups from more than 80 countries have participated in the Construction Startup Competition, says Cemex. Here are the winning entries from the 2022 edition:

2050 Materials (United Kingdom)

Cathago (Germany)
Constru (Israel)
Exodigo (United States)

Following the close of applications for the 2023 edition, the competition’s partners will decide who will be invited to the final stage of the competition: Pitch Day. The selected entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to showcase their solution to jurors, as well as leading companies and investors from the construction and technology industry.

The application phase for the 2023 Construction Startup Competition will be open until July 2.
