Janet Lloyd chairing ASTM committee on electrical insulating liquids and gases

February 27, 2014 – Janet Lloyd, vice-president of laboratory services at United Power Services Inc. (Nashville, Tenn.), is the new chair of ASTM Committee D27 on Electrical Insulating Liquids and Gases.

D27 includes over 100 members that make up 10 subcommittees; these experts oversee more than 50 ASTM International standards pertaining to electrical insulating liquids and gases, whether of synthetic or natural origin.

A member of ASTM since 1997, Lloyd also chairs Subcommittee D27.05 on Electrical Test, and was D27 vice-chair from 2006 to 2012. The committee presented her with the Charles A. Johnson Award in 2011 for her dedication and contributions. Lloyd also served a term on the ASTM Committee on Standards (COS) from 2010 to 2012, and has been chair of the ASTM Proficiency Testing Programs on Dissolved Gas Analysis and Insulating Fluid Quality since 2003.

Outside of ASTM, Lloyd is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and American Chemical Society.
