October 15, 2010 | By Anthony Capkun

The executive committee and board of directors of Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) announced the appointment of Jim Taggart as president & CEO of the association. He assumes this new role effective November 1. He replaces Milos Jancik, who will work with Jim during the transition.

“Jim brings a wealth of in-depth industry knowledge combined with
extensive management experience gained at various industry organizations
throughout his career,” said Harald Henze, chair, EFC and group vice
president & general manager, Wesco Distribution Canada LP. “The
breadth of his strategic knowledge, combined with his leadership
experience, drive and passion, makes Jim the ideal candidate to continue
expanding EFC and its members’ opportunities and position in the
Canadian marketplace.”

Most recently, Taggart served as vice-president, vendor relations at
Sonepar Canada (appointed April 2010). Prior to that, he served as
president of Legrand Canada. He is also past chair of Electro-Federation
Canada and has served as chair for EFC’s Electrical Equipment
Manufacturers Association of Canada (EEMAC) council.

“I would also like to thank Milos Jancik for his six years of
dedicated service at the helm of EFC,” continued Henze. “Milos has
provided stability to the association and its members during times of
triumph and tribulation. He and his staff have also been instrumental in
affecting change for complex industry issues such as environmental
legislation, sustainability, product safety, energy efficiency, and
standards development, while continuing to offer members value-added
programs to further industry training and education, and allow
opportunities for cross-industry networking. I wish Milos well in his
endeavours.”
