John Cleese keynote at The Work Truck Show 2011

October 18, 2010 | By Anthony Capkun

Comedian John Cleese (Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, A Fish Called Wanda, etc.) is bringing his unique perspective on business and life to The Work Truck Show 2011 as the event’s keynote speaker. He will speak at the President’s Breakfast and National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) annual meeting.

The Work Truck Show is North America’s largest vocational truck event,
says NTEA, and is held in conjunction with the association’s annual
convention. The 2011 event is being held at the Indianapolis Convention
Center, March 8-10.

So what does Cleese have to do with business? As it turns out, Cleese
and three fellow British actors founded Video Arts—a provider of
business training programs—in 1972. He attributes his success at making
hit training programs to his fascination with psychology and his love
for teaching and making people laugh.

“Humour in training increases retention and decreases anxiety. When the
training point is surrounded with humor, it can be readily digested,
remembered and applied,” says Cleese.
