Ontario’s John Davison wins 3rd in 2015 Locate Rodeo Power Division

August 13, 2015 – Fourteen years of locate excellence were celebrated recently in Georgia for the 2015 International Utility Locate Rodeo—a.k.a. the Olympics of the locate industry.

Congratulations to John Davison of G-Tel Engineering (London, Ont.) who placed third in the Power Division.

The event featured 81 locate technician competitors from across the U.S. and Canada. Competitors compete in one of four divisions—Gas, Power, Telecom or Water—each with three different test sites. The scores from all three event sites are used to determine the division winner.

Locate Rodeo is designed to “celebrate the art and science behind the craft of underground utility locating”, organizers say. The competition was held on August 1, on the campus of the University of West Georgia. It was hosted by Georgia 811 and the National Utility Locate Contractors Association (NULCA).
