November 23, 2011 – LED Roadway Lighting (LRL) Ltd. has acquired the intellectual property and “certain other assets” of Streetlight Intelligence Inc. of Victoria, B.C. With this acquisition, Roadway says it has become the first company in Canada to combine “energy-efficient HPS and LED streetlighting with smart wireless technology”.

“LRL now brings to market a single-source solution for customers, integrating control options with streetlighting fixtures to further improve energy efficiency and reduce total life cycle costs,” said Charles Cartmill, president and CEO of LRL.

“These wireless control options are ideally suited to our Satellite Series LED fixtures, and will allow our customers to seamlessly tailor light levels to their own needs, as well as monitor fixture operation and energy consumption,” added Cartmill.

LRL says it has extended employment offers to key individuals at Streetlight, and plans on retaining one of the current manufacturing and storage facilities in Victoria.
