Legrand Adorne to reinvent residential dimmers, outlets and wallplates

October 26, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

October 26, 2013 – Legrand says it is “on a quest to reinvent and beautify” residential dimmers, outlets, wallplates, under-cabinet lighting and wireless home systems with the launch of Adorne.

The switch portfolio features seven models, and the collection’s outlet design reconfigures the placement of the plugs to create a “chic profile”. The Touch Switch uses capacitive touch technology to control lights; its translucent face operates just like an iPod. The Wave Switch activates lights with the wave of a hand, while the SensaSwitch turns lights On/Off when people enter or leave the room. The Pop-Out Outlet is popped out when needed, providing three outlets, and pushed back in to fit flush to the wall when not in use.

All switches and outlets fit flush within the wall plates and eliminate the need for visible screws, says Legrand, adding the snap-in system fits in existing electrical boxes. The line also features a selection of coordinating wallplates in 32 finishes. To help light the way at night, switches and dimmers feature locator lights. Any Adorne product can also be combined with the Accent Nightlight, which provides a subtle wall wash below the plate.
