With Philips’ WarmGlow, the more you dim, the warmer the effect

January 26, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur

January 26, 2016 – Royal Philips says it has advanced the dimmable LED bulb beyond just dimming, to become a “mood-enhancing” light bulb that changes colour. New Philips LED WarmGlow progresses from a warm yellow, white light—similar to an incandescent light bulb, Philips says—to a warmer reddish, white light that’s similar to a sunset.

Like all Philips LED light bulbs, WarmGlow can be retrofitted to anywhere traditional light bulbs are used. The company recommends trying the LEDspot WarmGlow MV in the kitchen or bathroom, Philips LEDbulb WarmGlow Clear in the bedroom or living room and Philips LEDcandle WarmGlow Clear in dining room chandeliers for a diffused light effect.

The WarmGlow bulbs can last up to 15 years (based on average use of two to three hours a day) and also has up to 85% energy saving abilities, according to Philips.

The product became available in Europe in September 2015.
