June 15, 2011 – Lighting Science Group has launched a campaign to bring low cost, high output LED lighting to more households and businesses across the country, where it says it will offer the first in a series of high quality, yet affordable, LED products on Amazon.com, one of America’s largest online retailers. The company claims new 40 watt equivalent A19 omnidirectional, 8.5 watt LED bulb is 75% more efficient than the typical incandescent bulb it replaces and can last up to 23 years. Consumers will also soon be able to buy a 60 watt equivalent version, as well as BR, MR and PAR LED bulb types on Amazon.com.
