June 10, 2014 – Lumen—a Quebec distributor of electrical products—has announced it is investing $100 million to set up its new HQ and distribution centre in Laval.

A 385,000-sf LEED building will be built on a site that covers nearly one million square feet. Lumen will begin construction of the infrastructure and building as early as this month with the Loracon Cosoltec Consortium. The work is expected to be completed in April 2015. The company is bringing along 260 employees.

Lumen was founded in Saint-Eustache in 1962, and has been a member of the Sonepar Canada family of companies since 1984.
