June 13, 2022 – Makita has added 19 cordless tools and equipment to its 40V/80V XGT battery system.

Among them are two new metal-cutting solutions that aim to replace corded saws. The 40V max XGT brushless deep cut portable band saw (GBP01) promises up to 2x faster cutting than the 18V LXT model (XBP02), and features a 5 x 5-in. cutting capacity.

The 40V max XGT brushless 7-1/4-in. metal cutting saw with electric brake and chip collector (GSC01) boasts up to 2x faster cutting than a comparable corded saw (Makita 4131), and up to 160 cuts per charge with the XGT 4.0-Ah battery.
