July 16, 2012 – Mellanox Technologies, a supplier of end-to-end interconnect solutions for data centre servers and storage systems, has developed a 40 Gigabit ethernet interconnect solutions with RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet) support, which it says has been optimized to deliver the highest performance for compute and storage intensive applications. The Mellanox 40GbE based clusters, accelerated with RoCE technology, claim to deliver a more than 80% application performance increase compared to 10GbE based clusters. This, according to Mellanox, dramatically reduces IT costs and enables a power efficient compute centre.
