Meltric expands plugs and receptacles for hazardous locations

November 6, 2018 – Meltric has expanded its portfolio of hazardous location devices with the addition of 13 CSA-rated electrical plugs and receptacles.

The new products are Class 1, Zone 2, Division 2 versions of the manufacturer’s DS, DSN, DR and DSDC lines. Out of the 13, eight can be used at 600 V with pilot contacts. The DS and DR devices range from 20 to 250 A, 600 V AC, while the DSDCs range from 20 to 200 A, 250 V DC.

Rated to meet requirements for flammable gases, vapours and liquids, the plugs and receptacles feature spring-loaded, silver-nickel, butt-style contacts and are designed to withstand harsh, corrosive environments. They are differentiated from standard devices by their black, heavy-duty poly and metal casings.
