Michael B. Kenney, president of Thomas & Betts’ (T&B) Canadian, European, Middle Eastern and Asian businesses, will retire from the company on January 15, 2010. In the fall of 2008, Nathalie Pilon was named president of T&B Canada and Fabrice Van Belle was named president of the European, Middle Eastern and Asian businesses in anticipation of Kenney’s pending retirement.
“Mike has done an outstanding job leading our Canadian business over
his 13 year tenure with Thomas & Betts and, more recently, in the
expanded role of president of our businesses in Europe, the Middle East
and Asia,” said Dominic J. Pileggi, chairman and chief executive
officer. “Mike has played an invaluable role in mentoring the next
generation of T&B leaders. On behalf of the entire T&B family,
we sincerely thank Mike for his contributions over the years and wish
him and his family all the best in his retirement.”
Kenney joined T&B in 1996 to lead the company’s operations in
Canada, Australia and Asia. He assumed responsibility for the company’s
European and Middle East operations in 2008. Prior to T&B, Kenney
worked for GTE Lighting in a variety of international management
positions. He has been active in the Canadian electrical industry
associations for many years and served as chair of the
Electro-Federation of Canada and the Electrical and Electronic
Manufacturers Association of Canada. In 2009, he received the Industry
Recognition Award from the Electro-Federation of Canada for his
contribution to the professional growth of the association and Canadian
electrical industry.
