Milwaukee Tool acquires Empire Level

June 12, 2014 – Two veteran toolmakers in North America have united, as earlier this week Milwaukee Tool Corp. announced it has acquired Empire Level, based in Mukwonago, Wisc. Claiming to have invented the modern level, Empire has been a designer and manufacturer of layout and measuring tools for over 90 years.

“From the invention of the Monovial, to the introduction of the first Torpedo Level, Empire has a strong history of innovation. We share a passion for delivering best-in-class solutions for our users,” said Steve Richman, president of Milwaukee Tool.

“We are extremely proud to expand our portfolio with Empire Level, and we are committed to driving disruptive innovation and accelerated growth within the business,” he added.
