Molex introduces ‘extreme’ wiring devices for harsh, wet environments
December 10, 2018 | By Peter Saunders
December 10, 2018 – Molex has introduced the Woodhead Watertite Extreme family of wiring devices for harsh-duty, wet environments, featuring vulcanized rubber.
The new product family comprises two lines: the 14W47, featuring vulcanized silicone rubber, and the petrochemical-grade 14W47-P with oil-resistant vulcanized rubber.
Both carry an Ingress Protection (IP) 69K rating, certifying the highest protection available against high-temperature, high-pressure water and dust, for conditions requiring fully sanitized equipment, such as in food processing plants. The 14W47’s vulcanized silicone rubber husk, especially, is designed to repel and inhibit bacterial growth.
The new wiring devices are CSA certified and UL listed. Standard features include rubber grommet, compression ring, three-piece cord grip, colour-coded terminal screws and floating blade construction. Also, a cable glove seal provides a seamless connection for the cord set, for an extra layer of protection.
