More custom body space with Kenworth K270 and K370 cabovers

November 23, 2014 | By Anthony Capkun

November 23, 2014 – Kenworth has added three new options for its medium-duty cabovers that, it says, open the door for more diverse customer applications and body customization. The new options for the K270 and K370 cabovers include a compact back-of-cab exhaust system to allow more space for custom bodies.

Kenworth’s clear frame-rail package provides nearly 12 more inches of space for body installations. The cabovers can now be specified with the PACCAR PX-7 engine at a new top rating of 260 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque, in addition to a new 200 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque rating. The standard engine rating is 220 hp with 520 lb-ft of torque, mated with an Allison 5-speed transmission. Both truck models offer a standard air-ride driver’s seat and 2-person bench seating with storage underneath (with single-seat option now available). Wheelbases range from 142 in. to 242 in. (in 12-in. increments), and Kenworth cabovers can accommodate bodies from 16 ft to 28 ft. A 2500-si wraparound windshield combines with large side windows to provide greater visibility.
