October 21, 2016 – Eaton has introduced a system for motor control and power distribution centres (MCCs and PDCs) in low-voltage IEC applications. Called SmartPX, the hardware and software system promises a range of protection, monitoring and control functionality, and is integrated with Eaton Power Xpert CXH MCCs.

SmartPX stores and analyzes data from connected electrical equipment, learns normative load characteristics and sends alarms and warnings to upstream systems when connected equipment is not operating as expected. It tracks trends in total power, current and voltage.

The system is integrated, and factory-configured and tested in Eaton’s Power Xpert CXH LV MCCs and PDCs. SmartPX can be used locally or through an existing distributed control system (DCS), SCADA, ERP (enterprise resource planning) or other network.
